How does she propose to beat ISIS?
“Bomb more” goes without saying. Plus ask our Arab friends (you know, the most dangerous creators, propagandists, protectors, and funders of jihadis) to bomb more.
Make Iraq be at peace with their Sunni and Kurdish populations. If iraq won’t do that then arm the Iraqi Sunnis and the Iraqi Kurds. Because? I’m not sure; who can imagine? That will help calm things down? Encourage harmony?
Have a no-fly zone and pretend that Russians aren’t flying there. And if we see one in the air, what? shoot it down, I guess. After all, those vodka-swilling bastards are trying to protect their ally. Who gave them that right? War with Russia is fine to risk; they’ll back down, right?
What else to beat ISIS? Oh. And, of course, increasing beyond what the President has authorized for Special Forces boots-on-the-ground. (But without actually saying “boots on the ground” — technically, I guess their footwear will be ‘combat sneakers’ or something. Remember words create perceptions and perceptions create facts!)
Okay, Number 1:
ISIS is not smuggling oil through Iraq, Kurdish lands, Syria, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, nor with their tanker fleet on the Mediterranean. Nor is that how people, and weapons, from other nations are getting to ISIS-controlled territory.
They go through Turkey. Both directions. Turkey isn’t stopping them. Turkey doesn’t want to stop them. We know where the trucks containing the oil leave from. We’re not stopping them. Because Turkey is currently under control of a faction that has sympathies with the establishment of a caliphate. And they fear most the Kurds.
How then to get Turkey to work against ISIS? Bigger bribes? Threaten war? Speeches and press releases? Maybe a sternly worded letter, eh?
Number 2:
The Sauds and the Gulf Coast Nations (I think excepting, maybe, Oman) have been paying off and/or willfully supporting jihadis at least all this century. Some give them money as extortion payments against the threat of being targeted; others because they want jihad. Saudi Arabia even provided the seed population for the Syrian jihadis by offering death row inmates a free “Get of Jail and Go fight in Syria” card.
Common sense: if you’ve not stopped the Saud tyrants from funding and feeding jihadism, you’ve not done the one thing indispensable to defeating jihadism. Sheer madness to think otherwise.
Anyway, the Sauds are busy in Yemen bombing (with bombs and jets we sold them) and starving and generally destroying the millions who live there. Nonetheless, the Sauds are a major weapons market, er, props to the financial systems, er, alternate to Russia supplying fuel to Europe, our very Dear and Loving Friends. And surely they’d help if we… I dunno, were just tough asking them.
Turkey and Saudis are our friends as much as it’s in their interest to be our friends, but, like our hallucinated ‘moderate Syrian rebels’ (al-qaeda in Syria) they would love to see the US a smoking ruin, if they could but manage it.
Truly, Hillary isn’t alone among the Dem candidates in not thinking through ‘facts on the ground.’ But she’s the only one who always
invariably
continually
advocates more blood-letting, more interference, more weapons, in short, more ever-compounding terror in the world.
